Outlook Focused Inbox

You may have noticed the new Focused tab in your Outlook recently, and you may be wonder what is this?

Well, Focused Inbox separates your inbox into two tabs – Focused and Other.
Your most important emails are on the Focused tab while the rest remain in the Other tab.

Reason being… To allow you to focus on the emails which Outlook sees as the important emails. Then when you have the time, simply click on Other and you can read the remained of your emails.

As soon as Focused Inbox is enabled, the Focused and Other tabs at the top of your Inbox. The more you use Focused Inbox, the smarter it gets about how it organizes yourmessages.

You can also train your Focused Inbox to learn which are the important emails that you wish to always go into the Focused section. Simply right-click on the email you wish to move, and click “Always Move to Focused”.

If you are an Office 365, Exchange or Outlook.com user and unable to see the Focused tab in your Inbox, you can enable this with a click of a button in your Outlook:

1. In Outlook 2016, when in your Inbox, click the View tab (Or for Outlook on Mac, it is the Organise tab)
2. Click Show Focused Inbox.

The Focused and Other tabs will appear at the top of your inbox.
You will see when emails are going to the Other tab, and you can switch between tabs any time to take a quick look.

To disable Focused Inbox, just go back to the View (or Organise on a Mac) tab and unclick Show Focused Inbox.
